This Looks Complicated… But It’s Just Paper! (Fluffy Cow Card Tutorial)
Have you ever looked at a card and thought, “There’s no way that’s simple”—only to find out it was just paper and glue? That’s exactly what happened with this fluffy cow card, and I’m so excited to show you how it came together!
In today’s video, I’m walking you through two of my favorite paper hacks—one using patterned paper as a faux watercolored background and the other using specialty textured paper to create the fluffiest little cow ever. 🐄 Just click the photo for link!

Even though this design looks detailed, it’s totally beginner-friendly, and you’ll pick up a few tricks along the way for making simple supplies look fancy.

✂️ Supplies and Techniques
The secret to this card is choosing the right paper. The background is actually from a patterned paper pad that already had a beautiful scenic wash to it. By trimming it to fit my card front, I skipped the inking and got right to the fun part—building the cow.
The cow itself is made entirely from die cuts. I added texture by swapping out my typical cardstock for some specialty papers I had tucked away—think flocked, velvety, or even felt-style finishes. A little layering and foam tape brought her to life.
I did add a stamped sentiment and a few finishing touches, but honestly? This one came together quickly—and still looks like a showstopper!
