Two Different Fun Fold Cards From One Fold
Fun fold cards are one of my favorite ways to add interaction to handmade cards, and today I’m sharing a fold that gives you even more value. In this tutorial, I’m using one fun fold to create two completely different cards. It’s truly a two-for-one design that looks impressive but is very doable.
I’m creating Valentine themed cards for this project, but the fold itself works year round. By changing your paper choices and embellishments, you can easily adapt this fun fold for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, or any occasion. Don’t miss the full tutorial on YouTube – click HERE.

Why This Fun Fold Works So Well
What I love most about this fold is that it gives you flexibility. The base stays the same, but the finished cards look completely different. That means you are learning a technique you can reuse again and again instead of making just one card and moving on.
This is also a great fold if you enjoy interactive cards but don’t want something overly complicated. Once you understand how the fold works, the rest is just decorating and having fun with it.
Z Fold Card
This first card has so many extra details that will make any recipient excited and amazed. Closed, it looks like any other card, but when you open it, the magic begins!

The best way to see all the details is to watch the YouTube video so you can see this card in action.

Classic Easel Card
For the second card, I used the exact same fold but changed the layout and paper placement. Even though the structure is identical, the finished card has a completely different look and feel. This is where this fold really shines.

Want More Texture on Your Cards?
If you love adding texture and dimension to your cardmaking, I’m hosting a free embossing folder class January 29 through January 31. This class is perfect if you want to get more out of your embossing folders and learn how to create layered, interesting designs.

These two Valentine cards were created using the adorable new release from Papertrey Ink, and I love how cute and playful they turned out. Using the same fun fold for both designs really shows how easy it is to get two completely different looks from one fold.
