3 Creative Embossing Folder Card Techniques for Stunning Holiday Cards
Hi, crafty friends! 🎉 I’ve been having a blast in the craft room lately, and I stumbled on some amazing ways to use embossing folders that I just have to share! Today, I’m featuring the brand new release from Simon Says Stamp, but don’t worry—you can totally try these ideas with any embossing folder you have in your stash. So grab your folders, bring your creative energy, and let’s dive into some super fun and easy techniques that will take your cardmaking to the next level! 🙌

Card #1 Metallic Paper
For this card, I kicked things off with some stunning holographic red metallic paper from Simon Says Stamp—talk about instant holiday vibes! I used the “Brilliant Poinsettias” embossing folder to create tons of gorgeous dimension. To balance all that texture, I left a bit of white space for the perfect sentiment. And of course, I had to add a few red jewels to highlight all the sparkle and fun. This card really shines! 🌟

Card #2 Cut up Your Embossed Image
Have you ever tried cutting up an embossed image? It’s such a fun way to add more dimension! This particular embossing folder even has a coordinating die, but I still chose to cut up the image myself to create extra depth and texture. Be sure to check out the video for all the details on how I did it! To finish off the look, I added some metallic thread and a few gems, bringing this design to life with a touch of sparkle! ✨

Card #3 use Your Scraps
For the 3rd card, I used leftover holographic red scraps along with the new matte gold cardstock to create a stunning focal point. For the background, I stamped it using a background stamp and Lost Shadow Distress Oxide to give a subtle, soft accent to highlight the beautiful tree design. It all came together for a bold yet elegant look!
