Altenew New Release Showcase: Stunning Cards with Stencils, Embossing Folders & Press Plates
Hey, crafty friends! Let’s look at tons of new products from Altenew. This release just hit the shelves and it is awesome. I made lots of cards to show you all the fun products that I loved! I did a Livestream building the monochromatic pumpkin card and showing tons of ways to use colored cardstock. Check it out for tons of inspiration!
Card #1 Stencils & Embossing folder
For the first card, I had so much fun mixing both stencils and embossing folders to create some gorgeous texture and layers! 🎨 The combination really brings the card to life with dimension and color that just pop. I used a beautiful floral stencil for the background, softly blending inks to add depth. Then, I ran the piece through my favorite Altenew embossing folder to give it that extra wow-factor! ✨ This technique is perfect for anyone looking to step up their cardmaking game. Be sure to check out the Reel I’ve put together, where I share more ideas and tips for using stencils and embossing folders together! 💌 You won’t want to miss it
Card #2 Stencils & foiling
For the second card, I kept things simple by using just the Fairyland Florals stencil—no embossing folder this time! 🌸 Instead, I really wanted the focus to be on the press plate sentiments, which I hot-foiled in stunning gold. The shine of the foil against the soft stenciling is just gorgeous and adds an elegant touch to the card.
Card # 3 Hot Foil & no Waste Leaves
For this card, I went all out with mixed media sprays to create a burst of amazing color! 🎨 After that, I used the no waste die cut leaves to create the gorgeous leaves. For the background, I brought in the Geometric Essentials Circles press plate with stunning gold hot foil, which adds just the right amount of shine to tie everything together.
Card #4 Press Plates & Glitter
For this card, I used the press plates in a more traditional way, but I added a fun twist with ink blending for extra depth and dimension! 🌈 To pull the entire design together, I used coordinating glitter paper and the die-cut word “friend” as the focal point. The rest of the sentiment comes from a brand-new sentiment press plate from this release, adding just the right finishing touch!
Card #5 Monochromatic Magic
This is hands-down my favorite card from the entire release, and that’s saying a lot! 🎨 I think it’s all about the color scheme—while I usually gravitate towards bright colors, the soft gray tones and the warm hugs sentiment just felt right together. I love when a crafting experiment works out perfectly! 🙌 I started by die cutting the pumpkin pieces and then layered them onto an embossed background for some gorgeous texture. To finish it off, I added a bit of coordinating ink to create a subtle spotlight effect, which really makes the design pop!
