Elegant Heat Embossed Wedding Cards with the Papertrey Ink December Release

Wedding cards are something I like to make in batches so I have them ready whenever I need them throughout the year. Rather than scrambling for a card at the last minute, I prefer to create several timeless options at once that will work for any wedding I have coming up.

The Papertrey Ink December release is the perfect opportunity to do exactly that. The sentiments and dies in this release lend themselves beautifully to elegant, classic designs, making it easy to create wedding cards that feel special but not overly complicated. Today I’m sharing three wedding cards that all use heat embossing in different ways, including a two for one technique that helps you get more cards from the same supplies.

Join Me Live to Make These Cards

I’ll be creating all three of these wedding cards live on my YouTube channel on Thursday, January 1 at 2 pm Eastern. During the livestream, I’ll walk through each heat embossing technique step by step and share tips for getting clean, polished results.

If you enjoy crafting along or like seeing techniques demonstrated in real time, this is a great one to catch live. Here’s the link to join: https://www.youtube.com/live/8lcrFEUimTM?si=XRxma8dXFvvZtJZG

Card One: Heat Embossed Background Wedding Card

The first card focuses on using heat embossing to create the entire background. This technique adds instant texture and shine, which works especially well for wedding cards where you want a soft but elevated look.

By embossing the background, the card feels detailed without needing a lot of layers or embellishments. It’s a simple approach that still feels elegant and is perfect when you want a card that is easy to mail but doesn’t look flat.

Cards Two and Three: Two for One Custom Glitter Wedding Cards

For the second and third cards, I used a two for one technique that starts with creating custom glitter cardstock using heat embossing. From a single embossed and glittered panel, I die cut elements to create two separate wedding cards.

This approach is one of my favorites because it allows you to stretch your supplies while still ending up with cards that feel intentional and coordinated. Both cards feature matching sentiments, making them perfect as a pair while still each feeling unique.

If you like techniques that help you work smarter and build your card stash faster, this is one you’ll want to try.

Wrapping It All Up

These three wedding cards are a great example of how a few heat embossing techniques can give you a variety of looks using the same release. Whether you prefer a fully embossed background or a glittery focal point created from one panel, these ideas are easy to adapt and repeat throughout the year.

Be sure to join me live on January 1 to see these cards come together step by step, or catch the replay if you’re watching later.
