Altenew February Release: 3 Stunning Card Ideas
If you love trying new cardmaking products and turning them into cards you can recreate again and again, you are going to love this Altenew February Release.
Today I’m sharing three different card designs I made using products from the release. Each one has a totally different feel. One is bright and bold, one is elegant with layered texture, and one has a soft artsy look with watercolor and ink swiping.
These are the kind of cards that look impressive, but they don’t require a complicated layout or hours of work to feel special.
I will be making these cards in a livestream on Feb 20th. In the meantime, make sure to watch the many quick reels on these cards on Instagram HERE
Card 1: Craft A Flower Sunflowers Bold Statement Card
This first card is a total statement piece and it might be my favorite of the three if you love bold color.
I used the Craft A Flower Sunflowers set and really leaned into bright, striking color to make the florals stand out. This is one of those cards that feels happy and energetic the second you see it, and the sunflower design does all the work for the focal point.
To build up the background, I layered in a mix of specialty paper, stencils, and texture paste, then finished it off with die cut details to give the whole card even more dimension. It’s bold, layered, and the perfect example of how a few strong choices can create a card that feels extra special without being overly complicated.

Card 2: Traces of Time Texture Layered Card
For this second card, I wanted something more elegant and detailed, but still very simple to recreate.
The star of the show here is the Traces of Time embossing folder, and I used it in several ways to create interest and texture throughout the design. This embossing folder has such a beautiful pattern, and it’s the kind of staple you’ll reach for when you want an easy way to add dimension.
I also layered in vellum for softness and added paste for contrast and a little extra texture. A few die cut accents finish everything off and pull the design together.

Card 3: Love Preserved Watercolor and Ink Swiped Texture Card
This third card has a softer, more artistic feel and it’s so fun to create because every version will turn out a little different.
I used Love Preserved and focused on adding subtle detail by combining watercolor with ink swiping over the texture. That combination brings out the background in the prettiest way, and it creates an elegant look that feels effortless.
This style of card is perfect for encouragement, thinking of you cards, sympathy cards, or anytime you want to send something meaningful. The texture does so much for the finished design, even with a simple sentiment.

Which card is your favorite?
I would love to know which one you’re drawn to most.
Are you team bold sunflowers, team elegant texture, or team soft watercolor?
