Creating a Watercolor Floral Card with Altenew’s Petal Palette

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

1️⃣ Prep Your Image – Choose a floral design from the Altenew Watercolor Book and tape it down to prevent warping.

2️⃣ Mix & Apply Gouache – Using the Petal Palette, mix gouache colors to get the perfect shades. Start by layering lighter tones and gradually build depth with darker hues. Altenew’s gouache has a beautiful matte finish, making florals pop!

3️⃣ Add Shimmer & Texture – Once dry, apply shimmer relief paste over select areas using a little water to dilute it and the not brush end of the paintbrush. (don’t miss the reel tomorrow to explain this). This adds a touch of elegance without overpowering the design.

4️⃣ Assemble Your Card – Trim your painted piece to fit your card base, adhere it, and add any final touches like splatters or embellishments.
