Why I Love Die Cuts

There’s just something so satisfying about die-cutting, isn’t there? Whether it’s creating intricate backgrounds, perfectly layered sentiments, or adding adorable embellishments, dies make it so easy to take your cards to the next level. Plus, with the right dies, you can create cards that look polished and professional in no time.

Simple & Elegant Design

My first card features three dies working together beautifully. I used the Whirl Nordic Plate die on rich Eggplant cardstock for the background, adding gold splatter for a festive touch. The Whirl Fancy Leaf die in Matte Gold created a classy focal point, finished with metallic thread and a sentiment from the new EZ Sentiment Strips. Simple yet elegant!

Combining Dies to Create New Pattern

For my second card, I discovered a fun design twist! Highlighting the center of the Whirl Nordic Plate creates a perfect tree or triangle pattern. I cut the background from Eggplant cardstock and added six Whirl Nordic Medallion pieces in Matte Gold, arranging them into a tree shape. To finish, I layered the Fanciful Joy die in Eggplant over Shimmering Vellum and added a quick sentiment from the EZ Strips. The result is a bold yet elegant holiday card!

Different textures create interest

My final card is all about sparkle and texture! I started with the Grand Pixie Snowflake die, which not only cuts a beautiful snowflake but also adds embossed details. I used it on blue cardstock to showcase those intricate textures, then layered the center snowflake in glitter paper and Shimmering Vellum for extra shine. To take the sparkle up a notch, I added Prism Dazzling Gems. Finally, I trimmed the Fanciful Joy die to create a perfectly sized sentiment for the card. It’s a dazzling finish to my DieCember trio!
