Transforming Pointelle Die Cuts into Stitched Masterpieces: A DIY Card Making Tutorial
Hello, crafty friends! Today, I’m super excited to share a delightful little project that’s perfect for anyone who loves adding a personal touch to their creations. We’re going to transform a pointelle die cut into a stunning stitching die and then embellish it to perfection. So, grab your crafting tools, and let’s get creative together!
Step #1 – Die Cut
Use 2 dies in the new Simon Says Stamp release called Pointelle Rings. Cut 2 small and 1 large out of bristol smooth paper. Decide on your color scheme and find a matching stitching floss.
Step #2 – Ink Blend
Give life to your die cuts by ink blending them to achieve a gorgeous pink shade. For this, I’ve chosen to work with Rose and Peony inks, which offer a soft, floral hue perfect for our project.
Step #3 Stitch
These die cuts have small holes around the edges for decoration. I checked the size of the holes to make sure they were large enough for my needle and thread. This die is perfect for stitching. I added stitching around all the die cuts
Step #4 Add embellishments
Next, I added matte silver pearls to the center of the largest die cut. This embellishment covers the center hole of each stitching area and mimics a flower design.
Step #5 Put card Together
Last, I used the new Pinpoint Circle Background die for the background of the card. I ink blended with some of the teal mini cubes to create a spotlight background. Last, I found a circle stamp set that fit perfectly inside the middle pointelle die cut opening and added this “Happy Birthday” to the card.
This project is a perfect blend of simplicity and creativity, transforming basic die cuts into intricate, personalized card elements. Whether you’re crafting a birthday card or just experimenting with new techniques, I hope you enjoyed these ideas to stretch your supplies and use in different ways.
