Are you ready for something adorable? Today, I’m sharing a fun and simple birthday card I made with Papertrey Ink’s new release! This card features the sweetest birds you can stencil individually or leave as a stunning background. Let me walk you through how I brought this card to life with a few fun techniques and a sprinkle of embellishments.

The Process

For the main panel, I used the wings of love stencils to create a soft and cheerful design. The versatility here is amazing—you can either stencil the birds as standalone elements or keep them as a cohesive pattern, like I did. I was feeling a pink vibe, so I decided to use 4 colors in the same family to create this gradient of pink birds. I didn’t stop there, I added some spotlight ink blending by bringing a darker ink color in from the edges with my favorite brush for this (see supply list).

To frame the design, I incorporated the new Love to Layer: Laced Edges from Papertrey Ink. These dies add the perfect touch of dimension and elegance to your projects. I finished the card with a simple ribbon bow and a few heart embellishments because, honestly, who doesn’t love a little extra charm?
