Why Metallic Inks are a Game-Changer for Winter Cards
Winter-themed cards are all about that special, frosty feel, and nothing says winter wonderland quite like a touch of metallic shimmer. The Bronze and Copper inks in this release bring out that warmth and glow beautifully, adding a luxurious element to holiday and seasonal cards. Plus, they layer so well with other colors, creating depth and a bit of magic in the design.
Card Details: Stamping with Bronze Metallic Ink
For today’s card, I went with a simple yet elegant winter scene, using the bronze metallic ink to highlight the gorgeous deer in this set. Here’s how I made it:
- Background: Cut 2 pieces of green cardstock. For the background, I used the “Diamonds are Forever” Background stamp and the bronze ink.
- Focal Point: I stamped one of the reindeer in this set with the bronze ink. Tip: stamp multiple times to get thick bronze design that looks like it’s heat embossed. Give ink time to try as it is more like paint than other inks. After stamping the reindeer, I added a sentiment in white ink, then stamped highlights in bronze
- Finishing Touches: To complete the card, I added an ink swipe of bronze along the edge of the top panel. Next, I added some bronze cording to highlight the color.
