Today, I’m thrilled to share a fun and creative technique that will add a touch of magic to your cardmaking projects: ink swiping with embossing powder. This technique is perfect for creating stunning backgrounds, adding dimension, and making your designs truly stand out. Let’s dive into the details and get those creative juices flowing! For this project, you need a 3D embossing folder and a plain white piece of card stock. I am using the Wow! Smooth White card stock. Next, I add ink blending colors where the flowers will be on the embossing folder- you can be messy with this.

You should now have an embossed image on the white cardstock. Take a navy ink pad and swipe it across the entire page. This will highlight all the details and create the appearance of an image on navy paper.

Next, use the embossing pen to trace detailed lines along parts of the flowers and leaves. Sprinkle coordinating embossing powder onto the wet ink.

After heating all the embossing powder, add a sentiment to finish your masterpiece! I cut out the word “hello” from the same white cardstock and used the blue ink pad on it to ensure the sentiment perfectly coordinates with the design.
