Master Ink Blending and Stenciling: Creative Details for Stunning Handmade Cards
Today, Iām excited to share a card that really showcases how you can take ink blending and stenciling to the next level. By adding extra depth and detail, you can transform a simple design into something truly stunning.
For this card, I used the Papertrey Ink “Sunflower Garden” stencil, which is a beautiful layered stencil that covers an entire A2 card. To start, I blended the flowers with a soft yellow base. Then, I went in with a darker yellow/orange shade just on the center of the petals, adding more dimension. Finally, I used a small brush to lightly blend a touch of orange at the very center of the petals for that extra pop of color.
The added layers of color really give this card a rich, dimensional look, and itās amazing how just a few small details can elevate the entire design. For a closer look, make sure to check out my Reel on Instagram, where I walk through the process in more detail!
After finishing the ink blending on the rest of the stencil layers, I decided to step it up by adding a quilt detail with a cover plate die. This small addition really enhances the overall look and adds more dimension to the card. The quilted effect gives the design a bit of texture and depth, making the entire card feel even more intricate and polished. I love how this simple extra step takes the design to another level!
To finish off the card, I added some twine for a bit of texture, a simple sentiment, and just the right amount of sequins for a touch of sparkle. These little details pull everything together, giving the card a perfect finishing touch. I hope you love this design as much as I enjoyed creating it. Happy crafting!
