Beyond Basic Backgrounds Project for Altenew Educator Program
Today, I will feature a card that uses a couple of elements from this class. First, I started by blending distress ink onto watercolor card stock. I used masking post-it notes to cover the half that I wasn’t blending. To make sure the line was center and perfectly straight, I used the We R Memory Keepers laser grid.
Next, I added water stamping with floral shadows. This is a new technique for me and creates a beautiful subtle effect with the distress inks. Each area was stamped 2-3 times to get desired effect then blotted with a paper towel.
Next, I sprayed a subtle sparkle spray over the panel. After the panel was completely dry, I cut out the sentiment to do an inlaid die cut card. The two tone sentiment was awesome but I thought it would look amazing with some sparkle, so I added stickles to the top half. All that was left was to pop it up, add all elements to a card base and add some jewels.
I hope you enjoyed this fun card! Please click through the links below if you are wanting to check out any of the products or just planning on craft shopping. These links give me a small commission and help support my blog and YouTube channel.
