Altenew Level 2 Challenge Part 2

Hi, everyone! Today, we are going to look at some home decor using heat embossing on wood. This is part of my level 2 challenge with the Altenew Educator Certification Program. Ā Make sure to check the YouTube video for all the details.

So excited to finally be using a frame and some of my stamped flower scraps to create a sign for my craft room. First, let’s talk about heat embossing on wood. I tested several methods in my video. All of these methods give different looks. I settled on using my Versamark ink pad and fine detail gold embossing powder to get a more distressed look. With the rustic frame, I felt the fine detail powder allowed you to see the details in the wood more than the ultra high embossing powder.

Next, it was time to add some flowers. My craft room is a rainbow theme so I wanted this to match. I already had the pink and some purple flowers so decided to stamp some blue ones and greenery to complete the look. These flowers were all heat embossed with the same fine detail gold powder.

All that was left to do was to glue the pieces together. I used Aleene’s tacky glue for the “create” and a Lawn Fawn glue tube for the flowers.
