AECP Project for Masking Unleashed
Hello, everyone! Today we are going to use masking and embossing folders to make a one-layer card. I made a YouTube video of the process if you prefer to watch vs reading the blog description.
First, I made a very slight impression of the balloon embossing folder to set up my design. Next, was to pick a color family of inks to make the fun ombre effect on this card. For the masking, I cut out my letters and all 3 of the balloon shapes.
Once the masks were cut, I lined up the word “Happy” carefully in the center of the card. Next, it was time to start stamping. I roughly divided the card into thirds and started with the lightest layer at the top. Masks were used on the balloons that overlap.
After completing the stamping, I removed the “Happy” masks leaving white areas. Next, I took the negative masks of the letters and did some ink blending on the word “Happy.”
After the ink blending was completed, I added glossy accents on top of the ink for extra dimension. Last, I die cut the word birthday out of holographic card stock and added it under the “Happy” with some iridescent bubble embellishments on the front panel. The panel was mounted on blue card stock.
Please check the links below for all the supplies used on this card. Clicking through these when you are going shopping gives me a small commission and helps me run this blog.
